Jets and Dolphins

I get really tired of all of the negative Dolphin fans that do not believe in their team. It annoys the hell out of me. You know, the kind of person who leaves or stops watching at halftime if their team is losing. Sure we have not had alot to be happy about for awhile, but come on, doesn't anyone believe in Karma. I have always been optimistic, so my Opinion should only really count when we are doing good, but hey, we are doing good, are we not? We will beat the Jets, we have the momentum, and we are a better team. If we lose at least we can argue that we had a better record than some of the playoff teams.

I

I was at this game, It was the coldest game in dolphins history, and the second coldest in chiefs history. The Fins did what they do and finished the game with a win.

Miami Needs To Win Out

If Miami wins out, they will win their division. What are the chances of them doing this, well, they play the struggling chiefs this week, and then they play what I think is an overrated Jets team for the season finale.

Dolphins win against Forty Niners

No touchdowns in three games has been the story in Miami as a Joey Porter sack seals the deal against the Niners. The frusterating play of the Dolphins has been enough to get the job done in the last three games. It is not pretty, but they are getting the job done. 14 to nine was the score. You have to give the niners credit for controlling the clock, but the bend dont break style that the dolphins have aquired over the last 3 games is what did it.

Sanfransico and miami

Come on, I am tired of hearing that the niners are gonna win against the Dolphins. Now if they do, then Ill be wrong, I have been wrong before, but lets just say that I think that all this hype around the niners is gonna help Miami. I Think their offense has sputtered, and it is about time for them to put some points on the board. Please leave your comments and let me know what you think.

Dolphins Squeeze by the Rams

The Miami Dolphins won Sunday against the Rams, but if they want to make the playoffs they are going to have to step their game up. The upside to the win was the play of the defense. The rams did not score a touchdown, but did get 4 field goals. The Dolphins play the Bills next week and need a win to stay in the playoff hunt. The Dolphins already defeated Buffalo in Miami earlier in the year, and a win next Sunday would give the Dolphins a 3 and 2 record in the division. I expect the Dolphins to pick up the pace next week and make a good run for the playoffs.

Dolphins fall to the Patriots

It was an offensive shootout with the Patriots taking the victory 48 to 28. Miami kept up with the Patriots all the way until the fourth quarter. They looked like they just kind of gave up towards the end, but miami fans have to be pleased with how they played through the first three quarters. Miami's defense struggled all day long. Looking at the remainder of the schedule it looks like miami can still come away with at least 10 wins this season.

Patriots at dolphins

The excitement will be in the air this Sunday, as the New England Patriots travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. For the first time in a long time, Miami is actually playing for something. If Miami beats the Patriots, they will be in contention with the jets for first, and if the jets lose against the undefeated Titans they might actually be tied.

Big Turnaround in Miami

How could have anyone guessed that the Dolphins would have been doing this good at this point of the season. After going 1 and 15 last year, Bill Parcells stepped in as the vice president of football operations and surgically dissected this team, and now they are playoff contenders. Here is a list of positives from what we have seen so far from the Miami Dolphins.

1. "Wild cat, wild cat, wild cat". I cant say this enough. Ok, the wild cat is not the only reason for the Dolphins recent success, but it has it's positives. This formation, which consists of a direct snap to the running back with the quarterback lining up in a slot position has had some defenses baffled. The best part of the wildcat formation is that it forces other teams to focus on it instead of preparing for thier base offense, which Miami has also been known to run trickery out of.

2. Chad Pennington. I cant say enough good things about what chad pennington brings to this team. He bring Leadership, poise, confidence, and most of all, he does not turn the football over very often.

3. Tony Sparano. Lets give credit where credit is due. The work ethic and fundimental teachings of this coach is what drives this team. Right now the Miami Dolphins are getting the job done.

4. Tedd Ginn Jr. This guy is special. The forty yard touchdown off of the reverse that he ran against the Raiders showed just how hungry this guy is. It makes you think that anything can happen when this guy touches the ball.

5. Joey Porter. He leads the NFL in sacks, need I say more.

6. The Dolphins win games. They had so many close calls last year. This year they are getting the job done. They are finishing games with long drives that take time off of the clock, and guess what, they are scoring touchdowns at the end of these drives.

7. The Ronnie and Ricky show. With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the backfield they have two Pro Bowl caliber running backs running the football.

8 Patric Cobbs. He goes in unnoticed, and scores touchdowns.

Lets not scream Superbowl, because we know that that is probably not gonna happen, but the playoffs sound really nice considering this Dolphins team has been struggling to find thier identity in recen years. Time will tell, and hopefully the Dolphins will prevail.

Dolphins take on Raiders

Can Miami put it to the Raiders this weekend. I dont think that the dolphins will fall into a trap. They almost fell into a trap last weekend, but they put together a long fourth quarter drive that helped seal the game.

miami gets the job done against the seahawks

Miami did what they had to do to get the job done against the seahawks today. Three touchdowns and no field goals was the story for the miami offense with two of them coming early. The Seahawks tried to make a comeback at the end, but the miami defense stepped up big at the end. Ricky williams had a big day with 105 rushing yards including a 51 yarder for a touchdown coming from the wildcat formation. Ronnie brown only had 39 rushing yards, but also scored a 16 yard touchdown run also coming from the wildcat formation. Ted Ginn scored early on a fleaflicker play giving him his first touchdown of the season on a 39 yard reception. He also ran the opening kickoff back 100 yards for a touchdown, but it was brought back on a holding penalty. This miami team is making some noise in the division, with a win over New England and Buffalo they are 2-1 in the division and have improved to 5-4 on the season. They are playing solid football, and are finding ways to win games. They are on a 3 game winning streak, and have what some think is the easiest schedule during the second half of the season. All of us Dolfans finally have something to be happy about. Click Here for stats

Dolphins and the Playoffs

Sounds like the dolphins are starting to talk Playoffs. Could you imagine a 1 and 15 team turns it around and makes the playoffs the following year. We don't want to get too excited too early, but this is the first sign of life we have seen in a long time
Here's what I like about the Dolphins. Parcel's and company did the traditional Parcel's thing in the offense by rebuilding what I like to call the shell, Jake Long and a handful of draft picks and offseason moves that consisted of players who Parcel's either had a hand in drafting or coached, Including the most important piece of the puzzle Chad Pennington. Now, yes this is a young team, but Players Like Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown Provide experienced weapons. They already had a deep threat in ted ginn jr. , no matter how slow of a start he has gotten off too, that kind of speed is rare, and what a steal they got on Bess, the undrafted free agent reminds me alot of Wes Welker. Sparano has done a great job of coaching this team, and has kept these guys out of the training room with very little injuries. They take on a banged up Seahawks team this weekend. I would like to see them improve to 5 and 4.

Tedd Ginn Jr. Breaks Out

What a game the dolphins had against the Bills. Not only did Chad Pennington have another effecient day, and their Defense stepped up big, but Tedd Ginn Jr. had a breakout game. He did not score any touchdowns, but with 175 yards receiving, I think it is safe to say that this kid is only gonna get better.

Bills at Dolphins

Today we have a classic matchup, a rivalry game that will be very physical. The dolphins have struggled against the mediocre teams, but have thrived against the tougher teams. The Bills who are at top of the division, have been one of the elite teams this year, and if the Phins can pull this one off could prove again that they are headed in the right direction.

Ravens at Dolphins

The Dolphins take on the ravens this weekend, and I cant help but think that this will be a defensive game unless Pennington comes up huge. I do not think that Miami can ram it down Baltimore's throat. If Pennington can move the ball like he did against the Texan's, and Miami's defense can disrupt Joe Flacco, Miam has a chance to win another one.

Dolphins at Texans

Houston has had the better of the dolphins in the only three meetings that they have had. I remember being in Cancun about five years ago, trying to find a sports bar that could get their DirecTv to work for week one, then after a few more dolphin fans came in, they agreed to put one of their TV's on the Dolphins, Texan's game. The dolphins lost that game. That was the first opener that they had lost in a long time, and it also seemed to be the decline of the dolphins.

This week the Texan's host the dolphins again, but hopefully it will be different this time. The dolphins have never won against the Texan's, but I have a feeling that it will be differen't this time. The Texan's just lost to the colt's who's highlight's of this embarrassing comeback have been haunting the Texan's all week. The dolphins on the other hand are claiming that their recent success has more to do with execution than the famous wildcat formation.

Houston was also responsible for Miami's loss of Trent Green last year, which was also when what was bad got worse for Miami last year.We all know that anything can happen in the NFL. The dolphins have kept a very clean injury report, and intend to stay hungry and humble. If they stay true to this, they will come out on top in this contest.

Dolphins Upset Chargers

Last week Miami upset New England, this week it was the Chargers turn. This is something that Miami Dolphins fans can finally get excited about. They beat the two teams that were in the AFC championship game last year. Aside from the drive that looked easy and ended up with a touchdown pass to Chris Chambers in the end zone, the Chargers offense seemed troubled throughout most of the game.
Ronnie Brown had another good game with over 120 yards on the ground, and a touchdown. Chad Pennington showed the same type of efficiency as he did in the last game, having completed 22 out of 29 passes. For more info on the game click here.

Breakout game

Could this be a breakout game for Ted Ginn Jr., I thought about adding him to my fantasy football team, but I figured it to be too risky. Tedd Ginn has the kind of speed that you want in this league, but why does he have trouble getting down the field. As much as Miami needs chad pennington right now, he can't throw it down the feild in a way that would complement the speed of Ginn. This I think will develope Ginn into the receiver that he needs to become, and maybe, just maybe this will be the game where he begins to shine, after all, I think most of the focus will be on the run game.

Chargers at Dolphins

The team the chargers have become over the last few years can be quite intimidating. Even after the euphoric week that we had before the bye week, you have to wonder how we will handle the explosive Chargers.
You can call me optimistic, I always think the dolphins have a chance to win no matter how bad they are doing, and no matter who they are playing. I like the push that the front five got against the patriots even before they started using the wildcat formation. All of the off season moves are starting to payoff for this franchise, including the play of Chad Pennington. With the offensive line coming together, having Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams can be a real threat.
How about Ladanian Tomlinson? Will his toe keep him out? Can Sproles carry the load? I doubt Ladanian will sit this one out, but I do think that the other injuries on the Chargers roster can help us win this game. If we do not win, we will have to look at the positives as we have with our other losses. Rebuilding takes time, but we can't help but dream about making the playoff's this year which would make this one of the greatest turnarounds in history.
